Standalone control
Boilers connected in parallel Boilers connected in series
■ Without and with flow temperature sen-
sor (see the following table).
■ The cascade control defaults the set
boiler water temperature for all current-
ly active boilers. Every boiler control
unit regulates to the defaulted set val-
ue.
The following control strategies are avail-
able:
■ Condensing strategy (see page 102)
■ Conventional boiler strategy 1 (see
page 104)
■ Conventional boiler strategy 2 (see
page 104)
■ Without and with flow temperature sen-
sor (see the following table).
■ The control strategy is set automatically
to conventional boiler strategy 2, code
"3C:2" in the "Cascade" group (see
page 104).
■ The cascade control defaults the set
boiler water temperature for all current-
ly active boilers. Every boiler control
unit regulates to the defaulted set val-
ue.
If the lead boiler (condensing boiler)
does not achieve the defaulted set val-
ue, it will only act to control the return
temperature of the conventional boiler
downstream. The conventional boiler
starts later and is also shut down later.
With flow temperature sensor Without flow temperature sensor
Set code "3b:1" or "3b:3" in the "Cas-
cade" group.
The control deviation is calculated from
the set flow temperature and the actual
flow temperature to determine the start
and shutdown criteria.
Set code "3b:0" or "3b:2" in the "Cas-
cade" group.
The control deviation is calculated from
the set boiler water temperature and the
estimated average actual boiler water
temperature of the currently active boilers
to determine the start and shutdown cri-
teria. Only boilers with open motorised
butterfly valves are taken into considera-
tion.
Sequential control
■ With flow temperature sensor.
■ Set code "3b:4" in the "Cascade"
group.
